Privacy & Safety
This page is maintained by Amicus Vera to explain how we treat your data and keep the service safe. It is not a legal certification or third-party audit report.
What Amicus Vera does
Amicus Vera is a daily companion and safety helper for seniors. It lets you chat with Ana, track medicines and little wins, save health notes, find nearby medical help, and keep family members gently informed.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, language, city, and optional age and blood group.
- Health and care notes: conditions, medications, allergies, health checkups, and memories you choose to save.
- Family contacts: names, phone numbers, and relationships of people you invite to see your dashboard.
- Activity and chat history: check-ins, medicine reminders, daily wins, SOS taps, and conversations with Ana.
- Location hints: the city you enter to search for nearby hospitals, clinics, or pharmacies. We do not track your live GPS location.
How we use it
- To personalize Ana's reminders and daily conversations.
- To show your family the wellbeing updates you choose to share.
- To send SOS alerts and daily digest summaries to the contacts you select.
- To find nearby medical facilities using the city you provide.
- To improve the app experience — we do not sell personal data to advertisers.
Who can see your data
Your data is private by default. Only you, the family members you explicitly invite, and Amicus Vera's systems (needed to run the service) can access it. Emergency contacts only receive the alerts you turn on, such as SOS taps or daily check-ins.
Safety and security measures
- Sign-in required: most features require a verified account.
- Database protections: row-level security rules help make sure each user only sees their own data.
- No GPS tracking: Amicus Vera does not collect or share your real-time location.
- SOS is a helper, not a replacement: one-tap SOS calls your contacts and emergency services. It is meant to assist, not replace local emergency response.
- Family dashboards: only people you invite by email can see your summary. You can remove them at any time.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active so Ana can remember conversations, checkups, and memories. You can delete your account or specific records from your Profile. If you delete your account, associated personal data is removed in line with our backend practices.
Third-party services
Amicus Vera uses trusted providers for authentication, cloud hosting, and messaging. The safety of your data also depends on the security practices of those providers and the device you use to access Amicus Vera.
Your choices
- Update or delete your profile and health notes in the Profile section.
- Choose which family members get alerts and daily summaries.
- Turn off family notifications or delete contacts at any time.
- Sign out or delete your account to stop using Amicus Vera.
